Jeff was interview by Heather Markham aka Mama Creepy for her blog radio show Mama Creepy's Corner, about his career and his work on Channel 5's Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
"Big Brother's Bit on the Side was an extraordinary experience, an amazing adventure. I was performing in my show in the West End at the time at Molly Moggs. This very jolly young lady came up to me and said, Do you know the show Big Brother? I said, yes of course I do. Se said, there's a spin-off show on Channel Five. I'm one of the producers, would yo be interested in coming on the show? I said, doing what? And she said, Well what you're doing now. I said, why not, sounds like fun!"
Jeff was interview by Xander Gibb on XRad Radio Show, about his life and career and his appearances of Channel 5's Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
"My official title was Big Brother's Singing Drag Queen. When we used to go into rehearsals at lunch time on the day we had to rehearse every possible outcome or scenario. Sometimes there could be six nominations of people to be evicted, so I had to learn six different songs, six scripts. So it was along job and I'd be there all day, but it was great, great fun."
GAT Magazine published an interview with Jeff about leaving Big Brother's Bit On The Side, his cabaret spot The Jeff Kristian Show, his book Where D'Ya Put Yer Willy? and his role in the Gsus Lopez film Out.
"GAT: Now dish the dirt Jeff, why are you not on Big Brother's Bit On The Side anymore? JK: I was too camp for them, ha ha! Seriously, I was asked by the executives to do another three series, including the current one. But when it came to the start of each run, the phone never rang. A new Channel 5 controller took over last January, perhaps that's why. It's all very secretive up there, like getting spunk out of a stone. But I did three series and it was great fun, so I can't complain."
Transgender Zone Magazine published a review of Jeff's appearances on Channel 5's Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
"Jeff the singer who serenades the evictees every week and always in a nice dress and heels. It was so nice that Jeff did not slip into parody, just a normal outfit and makeup. For once a drag artist who could sing! Often it is the last resort for the talentless who find they cannot make it as a mainstream singer so wear a frock to prop the act up! Jeff was also articulate and had nice things to say about the housemates."
Stacy Novak of Transliving Magazine interviewed Jeff about his cabaret creation The Jeff Kristian Show and working with TV presenters Emma Willis and Brian Dowling on Channel 5's Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
"SN: It must have been lovely working with Brian and Emma, was there a real friendship there or purely professional? JK: What you see is truly what you get with Emma and Brian. They really are as lovely as they appear, and I adore them both. They make my job a lot easier! Rylan too is such a nice guy. In fact, the whole cast and crew are like a big family, unusual when you consider they’re running several big live shows all at once. I can tell you now, everyone was so honoured to have received the TG award… they were talking about it for weeks!"
Robert Ingham of Pinkwire Magazine interviewed Jeff about his TV work on Channel 5's Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
"RI: What’s it like being on TV every week? JK: Friday nights are when it all happens and it’s a buzz. Because it’s a live show it adds an edge where something could go wrong. I’m enjoying it immensely but it’s a long day. My call generally is between 5-6pm and I’m not usually on until after the first break at 11pm, but there is also the blocking through and rehearsals. When the evictee is announced on the night I have about 8-10 minutes until I sing. So it’s edgy but good fun."
Jason Reid of QX Magazine interviewed Jeff in a feature called Big Brother's Drag Delight, about his TV work on Channel 5's Big Brother's Bit On The Side, his book Where D'Ya Put Yer Willy? and his cabaret spot The Jeff Kristian Show.
"JR: Did Endemol approach you? JK: Yes, I've worked with them before on The Salon. I had tits made of rice grain, which turned into pudding when I interviewed someone in the steam room. I was sweating like Fern Britton in a cake shop! I expect this time will be slightly more civilised and not so messy. Here's hoping!"
